As per our experience, we need to Amend the Law of Financial Requirements (as per: California Children's Services) for Pediatric Care of "Sudden Onset" illness when the threat of "Death" is diagnosed... for the families affected who are living life as normal as they possibly under these circumstances.

It is our intension to create a bill that will relieve hard working families (who own their own home and a car, maybe their own business) with the same financial consideration a family gets if they are very poor, or from another conutry on our Medical System.

Presently, if a family experiences a child with "Sudden illness" with the possibility of "Heaven" in front of them, one of the parents has to quit their job and become full time caretaker.  Thus, a family's income is severely at a deficit.  The new expenses include very expensive medications, food, travel, parking, insurance payments, childcare for other children at home and much more.   One parent is physically and mentally reremoved from home.

Right now the system is set to break families in half.  As a family struggles to maintain what they have, with life and hope, finances break wills.   (Families are not only experience the thought that they may lose their child, but also they may lose their home too).  Faced with these possibilities, families are literally divorcing or separating to become single parents without income so that they can qualify for the available financial aid.  In doing so, the system now is encouraging families to be apart and stay apart and a family's unity is broken.  We have to change this...

If a family is in this world of illness and hospital living, the income should be looked upon with the NOW situation and determination of qualifications for financial care should be considered with the new normal and customay expenses.  If this is reiewed in the new financial present state, (not based on last year's taxes or the estimated income made before the illness was diagnosed), the income status would show that the family is in crisis and living below poverty level, therefore, financial aid should be immediately available.  The biggest worry should be dealing with the effect of cancer and keeping their child ALIVE!
